Japan gave voting material to Election Commission

Japan has handed over the materials used for voting to the Election Commission. The Japanese Embassy in Dhaka handed over the materials to Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin on Thursday (November 27). At that time, Saida Shinichi, Ambassador of Japan appointed in Dhaka, participated in the handing over of election materials collected through the UNDP ballot project with the support of the Japanese government.

The Chief Election Commissioner was also present at the Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) office along with the resident representative of UNDP, Stephen Leeler.

According to the embassy, ​​Japan has contributed the equivalent of 4.8 million US dollars to the upcoming elections. Japan supports Bangladesh's efforts to ensure peaceful and credible national elections. Materials including indelible ink and stamp pads have been handed over which will play an important role in strengthening transparency and election process across the country.

According to the embassy, ​​Japan is a steadfast partner of Bangladesh. Together with the EC, UNDP and other partners, we are committed to supporting a peaceful and democratic political transition in Bangladesh.
