Primary teachers are going on strike from November 30

As no progress was seen in the three-point demand of government primary school assistant teachers, including tenth grade, the teachers have once again embarked on an agitation program.

Meanwhile, a section of teachers has announced a full-day strike from Tuesday (November 25). This program will continue till November 27.

National Assistant Teachers Foundation President Shahinur Akhter announced the strike under the banner of 'Assistant Teachers Oikya Parishad'.

Shahinur Akhtar told Bangla Tribune, 'After the half-day strike on November 23 and 24, the full-day strike has started from Tuesday. The strike will continue till November 27. In the meantime, if the ministry does not accept our demand and issue a notification, then we will go on a continuous hunger strike from December 11, along with exam boycott.

The pre-announced 'Primary Teacher Demand Implementation Council' will have a strike program from November 30. There are 11 organizations of teachers including head teachers under the banner of 'Primary Teachers' Demand Implementation Council'.

If asked, the Central President of Bangladesh Primary School Assistant Teachers Association. Shamchuddin Masud told Bangla Tribune, “We will go to the movement program according to the previously announced program. If the demands of the assistant teachers are not implemented by November 29, the assistant teachers of all the schools will go on strike together across the country. I will go on a continuous strike until the demand is met.

It is to be noted that the assistant teachers of the government primary schools started a sit-in program at the Central Shaheed Minar on November 8, Saturday morning, with a three-point demand including the 10th grade. During the movement, the police lathi charge, water cannon, rubber bullets and sound grenade attacks.

On the third day of the movement, on the night of November 10, the placement program of primary assistant teachers was suspended in view of the government's assurance of implementation of the 11th grade and the political situation. Central President of Bangladesh Primary School Assistant Teachers Association said that night. Shamchuddin Masud informed that the next steps will be taken after discussing with the teacher leaders. If there is no visible progress by November, then a full-day strike program will be given.
